Overview

I partner with Berkeley Humane as a volunteer creative, producing photo and video content that documents events, captures moments of connection, and helps tell the organization’s story in a thoughtful, cinematic way. The work is guided by empathy, instinct, and a desire to make people feel present in the moment.

Challenge

There is no formal brief or creative direction. Each event is different, emotionally layered, and fast moving. The challenge is to observe in real time, identify meaningful moments, and shape a narrative that feels honest and grounded while remaining polished and purposeful.

Approach & outcome

I approach each project by responding to the energy of the day, capturing both quiet interactions and larger moments, then editing them into clean, cinematic stories that let the experience speak for itself. Alongside video, I create still photography used across adoption posts, newsletters, and evergreen brand content, balancing warmth and clarity in every frame.
The content supports Berkeley Humane’s outreach by communicating their mission with care and authenticity. For me, the work reinforces the power of storytelling rooted in presence, empathy, and real human and animal connection.
